Preferences

The Preferences screen can be accessed via the map2hand menu on the startup screen.

Bluetooth GPS Receiver

Non-bluetooth (serial) GPS receiver

GPS (settings differ depending on whether GPS receiver is bluetooth or serial)

Bluetooth

Tick this box if your GPS receiver uses bluetooth to communicate with the handheld.

Baud rate

Non-bluetooth only.  Set this to the baud rate of your GPS receiver, as specified by the manufacturer.

Find...

Bluetooth only.  Use this option to select your GPS receiver from the list of bluetooth devices.

GPS Locator

Symbol

Select the symbol to use to indicate your position on the map.

Colour

Select the colour to use to display the GPS locator symbol.  This only affects the appearance of the locator on low-res (160x160) devices.

 

Display

Auto-traverse maps

Tick this box if you want map2hand to search for an alternate map when your GPS position moves outside the boundaries of the current map.  Otherwise, the display will remain on the existing map until you manually load an alternate one.

Auto-load largest scale

Tick this box if you want map2hand to display your position on the largest scale map available for the current location.  Otherwise, your position will be shown on the current map for as long as you remain on it, regardless of the availability of other, more detailed, maps.

Centre map on GPS

Tick this box if you want the display to be centred on your current location (map coverage permitting)

Use full screen

Tick this box if you have an extended display (e.g. TT3 320x480) and you want map2hand to use the full area when displaying maps
