Group Stages
Tap on a match to display the match screen. Enter the score in the boxes provided and then select “Done”. The group table will then be sorted automatically, based on the FIFA
rules for the tournament. If two or more teams are level on points, then their order is determined as follows:
- Goal difference in all games
- Goals scored in all games
If two or more teams are still level, then their order is determined as follows:
- Points gained in matches between the teams in question
- Goal difference in matches between the teams in question
- Goals scored in matches between the teams in question.

If two or more teams are still level, then the order is determined using criteria defined by FIFA (e.g. fair-play record, qualifying record for World Cup etc). One method available to
FIFA is to separate teams by drawing lots. The Group > Draw Lots screen in the application will allow teams to progress on this basis.
Note: the application does not cater for extraordinary circumstances such as teams being docked points. Should this happen, the group order can be forced by using the Group > Force Order
screen. This screen should only be used as a last resort. In virtually all normal circumstances, the automatic ordering will be correct.
Knockout Stages
The teams that will contest each match in the knockout stage are automatically determined by the planner, once the relevant games from the previous round have been completed.
Enter the score for each match. If the game finishes in a draw, then it will be decided by a penalty shoot-out. You can enter the outcome of the shoot-out in the spaces beneath the main score.
General
Upcoming and recently played matches can be viewed via the World Cup > Next Matches and World Cup > Recent Matches menu options. Tapping the stylus on one of the games
displayed on these screens will take you directly to the result page for that match.
If you have entered predictions for matches that have not yet been played, then these results can be cleared quickly by using one of the "Reset Matches" menu options. "Reset
All Matches" will clear the results for all games on the current screen. "Reset Unplayed Matches" will clear the results for any games that have a kick-off time that is later than the
current time on the Palm.
You can export matches to the DateBook. This can be done by tapping on the DateBook icon on the screen for the match in question. Alternatively, you can export all the games in a single group using the Group > Send to DateBook
menu option. An alarm may be set for the matches, depending on whether the preference has been set up (see later).
You may set preferences for the time calculation (use the Palm time zone (PalmOS v4.0+ only), or a specific number of
hours ahead of/behind the time in Germany), and whether or not to set an alarm for matches exported to the DateBook.
If you choose to have an alarm, you may enter the number of minutes prior to the start of the game that you would like the alarm to sound.
